Does The G-5 Declaration Have An Effect On The 2023 Election?
Who the G5s will support as the next president has been a hot topic recently. Everyone wonders what kind of influence their endorsement has.
The G-5 are governors who were elected on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform; they are Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), and Nyesom Wike (Rivers State). The group was established based on the values of honesty, loyalty, equity, fairness, and justice. However, as the group has been holding meetings to decide who to support in the upcoming election, their endorsement has gained momentum on social media.
However, given the apparent internal conflicts that arose during the People's Democratic Party primary election between Wike and Atiku, it seems unlikely that they will support the party's nominee.
Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo state, should exercise caution in deciding who he supports since he plans to run for a second term, and his choice might make or break that desire.
