Christina McLarty began her journalism career in her homeland of Arkansas. She interned for MTV’s news and documentaries division. Her first full-time work was as a general assignment reporter at KATV-Channel 7 in Little Rock.
She was also a reporter, producer, and host for the show Buzzed Into DFW, which aired on KTXA/Channel 22, KTVT’s sister station. She worked as a weekend anchor and did human-interest stories about the Dallas Mavericks basketball team while there. From 2004 to 2006, she worked at the station.
Later, she worked as an Entertainment Tonight correspondent, interviewing celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Arsenio Halls, Oprah, Robin Williams, and Chrissy Teigen. She also worked as a reporter for The Insider.
