As a student at Belleview High School, where she graduated in 2001, Boone studied acting. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Acting from Florida State University’s School of Theatre in 2005. 

Boone trained at the Asolo Repertory Theatre with Jane Alexander and Edwin Sherin and workshopped with playwright Mark Medoff. Boone attributes Alexander’s influence on her decision to continue acting when she had considered quitting earlier in her career.

In late 2017, Boone enrolled at Bard College in New York to pursue an MBA in Sustainability.

Boone won two LA Weekly Theater Awards for her performance in the 2007 Los Angeles premiere of Charles L. Mee’s play Limonade Tous Les Jours. Boone made her feature film debut in the 2009 horror thriller My Bloody Valentine 3D, followed by a supporting role in 2010’s Sex and the City 2.

She made her television debut in 2010 as Junior Deputy District Attorney Lauren Stanton on the short-lived NBC series Law & Order: LA. Boone made her directing debut the same year with the independent film Eggshells for Soil, which was partly shot in her birthplace of The Villages, Florida. She also appears in Step Up Revolution (2012), the fourth installment in the Step Up franchise.

Boone went on to star in the independent film Leave Me Like You Found Me (2012), for which she received the Gen Art Film Festival Award for Best Actress. In 2013, she had a recurring part on the CBS police drama series Blue Bloods, followed by a major role as FBI agent Elizabeth Keen in the NBC series The Blacklist the following year.

The Blacklist was a critical and commercial success, with high DVR ratings. Boone announced his departure from The Blacklist after eight seasons on June 15, 2021. She and her Weird Sister production firm just acquired a first look contract with Sony Pictures Television.

Megan Boone: Relationship

Boone’s publicist stated in November 2015 that she and artist Dan Estabrook were expecting their first child together. During an appearance on Live! with Kelly and Michael in January 2016, Boone revealed she and Estabrook were engaged and expecting a girl. Caroline, Boone’s daughter, was born that year.
