Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has left their World Cup party having played just one group stage match.

The Indomitable Lions are due to take on Serbia on matchday two in Group G on Monday morning, but they will have to do so without their star stopper.

After news was broken by COPE, it's now being widely reported that Onana and the Cameroon hierarchy have fallen out over their style of play, with the Inter star set to leave Qatar shortly and return home.

It's said that the Cameroonian coaching staff asked Onana, a known sweeper-keeper who likes to build from the back, to play a more 'traditional' role.

However, he refused to change his ways and he has now been removed from their squad for disciplinary reasons.

National hero Samuel Eto'o, now president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, tried to intervene and help both sides come to an agreement, but his efforts proved fruitless.

Onana has been replaced in Cameroon's starting lineup for their match with Serbia by Devis Eppasy, who plays for Saudi Arabian side Abha.
