Oyetola's Top Officials Flee Abroad

● As Top Directors Refused Vehicle Sharing Directive

Hours after exposure of Governor Oyetola's plan to sneak out of Osun state, about seven of his top aides inclusive of three commissioners are billed to flee abroad this Thursday.

Insider sources indicated that a commissioner who played key role in the few sordidly executed projects of the administration is expected to leave Nigeria for a North American country.

Checks showed that he handled several controversial programmes whose worthy, costing and procurement processes have been openly questioned and challenged as questionable and corruption tainted.

Another commissioner who authorised multiple payments and awards among key parastatals under his ministry is cited as having left the country. He was reputed to have awarded and paid contractors even before they secured award letters.

The head of a counterpart funded agency of government with multi-billion naira resources has also sneaked out of Osogbo. His friends said his destination is a European country.

The Chairman of a notorious commission who blew almost one billion plus naira of government fund on an illegal programme is reported to be out of the country already. Rather than face the indictment from fund sharing that is already within public domain, the lawyer has transited to a European country.

Meanwhile, three top Directors including a Coordinating Director now face threat of sack from the Head of Service because of their refusal to authorise release of vehicles to outgoing political functionaries.

The directors were reported to have been directed to issue letters to authorise as many as seven and even eight vehicles to each of the functionaries, a directive they believe violates service rules and due process requirements.

When they refused, the Head of Service got the Governor to issue him expressed approval to dispose of the vehicles directly from his office as the Head of Service.

Even at that, the number one civil servant once again attempted to transfer the task to one of the directors who again refused on account of the illegality of the directive.

As at the time of filling this report, the HOS has now collected letterhead papers from the Directors' office to personally prepare the letters to release the vehicles to the affected beneficiaries.

As a consequence, the HOS is threatening to sack the directors for insisting on complying with due process and the public service rules
