An evil stepmother allegedly gouged out the eyes of her four-year-old stepson as a barbaric punishment after he wet the bed. The youngster, who has not been named, is thought to have wet his bed the night before he was allegedly set upon by his dad's wife.
The horrific attack happened in the province of Masvingo, Central Zimbabwe.

It is claimed the woman has admitted the crime and was laughing about carrying out the evil deed when police arrived.

Local reports claim the woman was saying: 'He isn't my child' to officers who questioned her motives.

Horrifying pictures taken of the boy followig the alleged attack show him sitting on the ground in bloodstained clothes, with his eye sockets a ruined mess of tissue.

It was not clear whether the boy's father was present at the time of the attack.

Police in Zimbabwe have not released details of what charges the woman could face over the incident, and it was not clear whether she was under arrest.

The case is believed to be ongoing.
