Bravo! You Won't Believe What Police Officers Did Few Minutes After Gunmen Kidnapped a Doctor in Rivers

The Special Anti Robbery Squad attached to the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit in Rivers State has smashed a notorious kidnapping gang terrorizing the state within minutes.

Daily Post reports that the five-man gang was rounded up when they tried to kidnap a Medical Doctor at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji told newsmen in Port Harcourt that the gang was arrested following a tip off.

Magaji warned criminals to repent or face the full wrath of the law.

He said, “It was around midnight when we acted on a reliable information that a Medical Doctor has been kidnapped at the UPTH.

“We alerted our men who gave the kidnappers a hot chase until luck ran out on them and here we are.”

Meanwhile, a member of the kidnap syndicate who identified himself as Wisdom Wali confessed to have masterminded the crime.

On his part, the Chief Medical Firector of University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Professor Aaron Ogule commended the police for rescuing the medical doctor.

While Wisdom Wali was arrested, two of the kidnappers were shot dead during a shoot out with the police; one is in the hospital with gunshot wounds, while one escaped.
