Erik ten Hag gives verdict on Marcus Rashford's best position

Erik ten Hag has given his verdict on the conundrum of where to play Marcus Rashford after the England man was used on the right in the defeat to Aston Villa.

Rashford has firmly established himself at Man Utd without really ever managing to nail down a regular position in the team.

Ten Hag used him from the right against Villa due to Jadon Sancho and Antony both missing out with injury, but he knows it’s not where you get the best out of him.

''He can play there, as he can stretch across all the three positions, and he can score goals in each [of them],'' Ten Hag said when asked about Rashford’s position in the post-match press conference.

''The best position for [Marcus] Rashford is the number nine or coming in from the left.

''In the front line, we have our problems and, in this game, it was the best balance.''

Rashford has scored 100 goals for Man Utd in more than 300 games, with 63 of those goals coming in the Premier League.
