A private school teacher has been arrested for allegedly having sexual relations with a student just two days after his wife was taken into custody on the same charge.

Jamie Franklin Parker, 32, who teaches Math at Pickens Academy in Carrolton, Alabama, was arrested on Wednesday, following the arrest of his wife, 30-year-old Charli Jones Parker, Dailymail reports.

According to the report, the husband and wife were both booked into Pickens County Jail and charged with engaging in a s*x act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student under the age of 19 as a school employee.

While the wife identified Charli Parker is accused of having s*x with a male student and now facing 11 counts of sexual assault, her husband Jamie Parker allegedly had sexual relations with a former female student of the private school, according to WCBI. More charges against Jamie Parker are expected to come on Thursday.

The accusations against Jamie Parker are separate and unrelated to the accusations against Charli Parker. All of the alleged sex acts occurred away from school grounds, according to WVTM. Jamie Parker is the head boys’ basketball coach and assistant football coach while his wife, Charli, is a girl's basketball coach at the school. She also taught physical education, computers at the elementary school.

Pickens Academy Headmaster Brach White released a statement following Charli Parker’s arrest, according to AL.com.

‘The primary concern of Pickens Academy is the safety of our students, Pickens Academy is very upset about the allegations against our employee.,’ White said.

The statement continued: ‘The employee will be suspended immediately and further action may be taken upon investigation. I request prayers for our school family and for all the families involved.’

The details of what led to Parkers’ arrests. It is believed the couple have a young son together. The couple met at University of West Alabama and have been married since 2010, according to Tuscaloosa News. A school official told Daily Mail Online on Tuesday that Charli Parker has been suspended from her position at the school, which teachers Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Jamie Parker’s status at the school is unknown.
