Don William Felder was born on September 21, 1947, in Gainesville, Florida to his parents Doris Rebecca Felder and Charles Nolan Felder. He grew up in a Southern Baptist family.

Don Felder became a member of the band Flow and released their eponymous debut album in 1970. He was in New York with his band and further improved his skills in guitar. In 1974, he appeared in the album entitled ‘The Great Pretender’ by Michael Dinner.

In January 1974, Felder became a member of the band Eagles. With them, he released the band’s fourth album called ‘One of these Nights’ which was released in 1975. A year later, the band released the album ‘Hotel California’ which became a major international hit. In 1979, they released the album ‘The Long Run’.

With the Eagles, he has also released two live albums, ‘Eagles Live’ and ‘Hell Freezes Over’. He has also released three compilation albums with them and was also featured in two of their other compilation albums.

In 1983, he released his debut solo album called ‘Airborne’. His second studio album ‘Road to Forever’ was released in 2012. Felder has also contributed to various soundtracks.

For Eagles, he has co-written the songs “Visions”, “Too Many Hands”, “The Disco Strangler”, “Those Shoes”, “Victim of Love”, and “Hotel California”.
