Tinubu represents hope for Nigeria’s many problems – SWAGA at presidenttial campaign flag-off

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 presidential election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been described as the only candidate who represented hope for the country as it navigates through the many problems it is currently experiencing.

The National Chairman of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), Senator Dayo Adeyeye said this during the flag-off of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu APC presidential campaign in Ikirun, Osun State on Saturday.

Adeyeye noted that the decision to flagoff the campaign in the Ifelodun was because the APC presidential candidate had directed that it begin from Ifelodun-Boripe-Odo-Otin federal constituency.

According to him, “The flag-off signifies a message of hope from Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the people. Hope for a new and better Nigeria. Hope for a new nation in which some of the problems we are currently experiencing will disappear by God’s grace.

He maintained that Tinubu was on top of the situation because he is highly experienced and has the capacity, ability, connection and world outlook that will make things work for Nigeria.

Ayo Omidiran, the Osun SWAGA coordinator, while noting that it was befitting to flagoff the presidential campaign for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the federal constituency added that it was also because Ikirun fell under the federal constituency of the Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

“Today is the flag off of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential campaign in Osun by SWAGA.

“We feel the best place and befitting place to do the flag-off is the federal constituency comprising Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin local governments.

“This is also the federal constituency of the state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

“The main purpose of inviting these SWAGA and party members here is for them to go home and tell the people that the work has started

“Sensitisation has begun for people to know that Bola Ahmed Tinubu will like to become the president. From now on, you’d see us campaign from federal constituencies to local governments.”

She called on party members to start campaign for Tinubu from the polling unit, ward and local government.

One of the SWAGA coordinators, Oyetunde Ojo while fielding questions from journalists at the event added that SWAGA also aimed to get between 12 and 15 million votes for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

Ojo revealed that SWAGA aimed to achieve this because, “We have done the work from state to local government and federal constituency level to preach the gospel to the people and tell them the reason Bola Ahmed Tinubu should be voted for.

“We have dwelt on his achievements as the Lagos State governor. The most important thing is from the federal constituency and the local government levels, our supporters will go to their wards and units to talk to their people.

“They are the messengers that are supposed to carry the message of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the doorstep of everybody. We are very optimistic that it will work out. We aimed for him to be the candidate of the party and by the grace of God it has manifested.

“I can tell you come February, he is going to be the president of the country. We are very optimistic about that. We are not playing. We are working.

“Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not a lazy man. He works day and night. What he has told us to do and what we have guided ourselves is to keep working and we will work till the end of the day and I can bet you it is going to be a landslide victory because when you work, you’d get your result.”

Royal fathers at the event led by the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdulrasheed Ayotunde Olabomi stated that they were grateful that an Osun indigene had aspired and won the presidential ticket of a major political party in Nigeria.

They were in agreement that it was now time for a person from the southwest to become president

While expressing confidence that Tinubu would be elected president in 2023, the traditional rulers beseeched the electorates to vote APC and Tinubu in the presidential election in 2023
