Florentino Perez: 'Nobody doubts' Karim Benzema will win the Ballon d'Or

Florentino Perez says nobody has any doubts over the fact that Karim Benzema will win this year's Ballon d'Or.

Benzema is the favourite to win the prestigious award thanks to the immensely impressive form he has been in at Real Madrid for the past year.

His performances have already earned him the UEFA Player of the Year award, and Perez is certain the Frenchman will follow that up with a maiden Ballon d'Or.

“Benzema has already received the UEFA Player of the Year award and in the next few days, he will be awarded the Ballon d’Or. Nobody doubts it," the president told Mundo Deportivo.

Last season couldn't have gone much better for Real Madrid with the club comfortably winning the league and beating Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Many in the club's squad have now won both of those trophies multiple times, but Perez says they won't get complacent.

“In sporting terms, last season we experienced memorable matches, which reflected Madrid’s DNA, that fight until the end. We beat PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City. I would also like to congratulate Liverpool for their great performance," he added.
