Three Killed In Benue State

Three victims have lost their lives following an attack by armed men in Tse Ngban village of Nyiev Council Ward in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

The incident which occurred on Sunday night caused the villagers to desert their homes.

Speaking to Daily Trust, one of the residents of the community, Abel, said that the attackers overran the village around 7pm.

Before Sunday's attack, Abel disclosed that the invaders had previously blocked the Daudu-Lafia highway near the NYSC farm at Uda Yagba and a passerby was injured.

He said;

“A woman was killed on the spot while the two others died shortly after the attack from the injuries inflicted on them by the armed assailants.”

Benue police spokesperson, Catherine Anene who confirmed the incident said the corpses of the three persons killed in the attack have been deposited at Benue State University Teaching Hospital.

Anene said;

“Three persons were killed in an attack at Guma, corpses have been removed to BSUTH while an investigation is ongoing.”
