Nicholas Galitzine Joins Anne Hathaway in Romance Film The Idea of You

Amazon Studios has announced that Purple Hearts star Nicholas Galitzine has been tapped for a leading role opposite Anne Hathaway in Prime Video’s upcoming film adaptation of The Idea of You, based on Robinne Lee’s romance novel of the same name. Galitzine is set to play the role of Hayes Campbell, one of the members of the most popular boy band in the world.

Galitzine’s film credits include The Beat Beneath My Feet, High Strung, Handsome Devil, The Changeover, Share, and The Craft. The upcoming project marks his latest collaboration with Prime Video after previously starring in its musical adaptation of Cinderella last year. He will also next be seen in the streamer’s upcoming romantic comedy Red, White, & Royal Blue.

The Idea of You will be directed and produced by Michael Showalter from a screenplay written by executive producer Jennifer Westfelt. It follows the story of a middle-aged woman who unexpectedly finds a connection with one of the most popular boy band members in the world. The only issue is he’s nearly half her age.

“Sophie is a 40-year-old divorced mother,” reads the synopsis. “Sophie’s husband Dan left her for a younger woman, and now he has canceled his Coachella trip with their 15-year-old daughter. Sophie picks up the pieces, braving the crowds and desert heat. There, she meets 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of the hottest boy band on the planet, August Moon.”

The film will be produced by Hathaway for Somewhere Pictures, Lee, Cathy Schulman for Welle Entertainment, Gabrielle Union and Kian Gass for I’ll Have Another, Eric Hayes, and Jordana Mollick.

Production is expected to start this coming October.
