The Foxes have picked up just one point from their opening seven games and have conceded a joint-record 22 goals across those matches, leaving them firmly rooted at the bottom of the Premier League table.

After the game, Rodgers insisted his side have been better than their results might suggest, but admitted he cannot hide away from the team's historically miserable start to the campaign.

Asked if he feels he's under pressure, Rodgers told Sky Sports: “Very much so. I come in every day and do my work. I totally understand the frustration of supporters. I can’t hide from that. It’s my responsibility.

"Whatever happens I’ll have a huge amount of respect for them [the owners] because they’ve given me great support. I understand the game.

"The scoreline didn’t reflect the game but the bottom line is it’s a heavy defeat. They’ve given me brilliant support. Whatever happens to me at Leicester, whether I stay and fight on, I’ll always respect them."

90min understands that Leicester chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha remained committed to Rodgers before the defeat to Tottenham but has grown increasingly concerned by the team's results, and this latest loss will not have eased his worries.
