APC chieftain faults Wike, says Amaechi attracted N78b, others to Rivers

Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Eze Chukwumemeka Eze, has faulted claims by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike that the immediate past Transportation Minister, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, did not attract any project to Rivers State.

Eze pointed out that the N78 billion windfall, which Wike received from the Federal Government, was facilitated by the former minister, recalling that the money was withheld bythe ex-President Goodluck Goodluck Jonathan administration, in which the sitting governor served.

He said: “Amaechi’s presence in the Presidency restored the $10b NLNG Train 7 that was also blocked, as well as the release of almost $400 million of the $1b of the UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) Fund to Ogoni.”

Wike had, while inaugurating the reconstructed former Riv-Bank Insurance building in Port Harcourt, last Monday, chided Amaechi, saying “a man, who failed to attract projects to his state and had exhibited poor leadership within his party, APC, should hide his face in shame and desist from talking about Rivers politics.”
