Intermediaries have made it known to Brighton that De Zerbi is interested in replacing Graham Potter at The Amex.

De Zerbi is currently out of work after leaving Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk in July this year following the Russian invasion, just 12 months after he joined them from Italian side Sassuolo.

During his time in Italy, the 43-year-old was praised for his brand of football and overachieving on a relatively small budget, and it is believed Brighton's ownership have been impressed with his CV and are now considering a move for De Zerbi.

90min revealed last week that Brighton's initial search had brought up a host of names as potential contenders to replace Potter - including Nottingham Forest's Steve Cooper and Bodo/Glimt's Kjetil Knutsen.

Now De Zerbi is also on the list, as a host of names are being offered to Brighton - including Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.

Brighton are making sure they cover all aspects of their search are likely to make their decision during the forthcoming international break with a view to the new boss taking charge at Liverpool on October 1.
