Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho set to return to England squad
Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho look set to return to the England squad for the first time in almost a year.
Both played in multiple matches at the Euros last year but they failed to impress for Manchester United in the season that followed and thus lost their places in Gareth Southgate's squad.
Things have gone much better for both at club level this season though, with Erik ten Hag including them in his first-choice starting XI and thus far getting the best out of them. Sancho has two goals in six games, and Rashford has three as well as two assists.
Southgate and co. meanwhile have struggled in recent times, failing to win any of their four matches in the last international break, losing twice to Hungary with the second of those being a humiliating 4-0 thrashing.
Given all of the above, the Daily Mail say the Manchester United duo are set to return to the Three Lions squad for the upcoming Nations League meetings with Italy and Germany.
As for who they will replace, West Ham's Jarrod Bowen seems the most likely player to drop out given his relatively poor start to the season, with the winger failing to get a goal or assist in the opening six Premier League games.
While the matches may not be, who is in the squad is hugely important with it being the last international break before Southgate decides who to take to Qatar.
Given he'll have just a week with the players before the tournament starts, he's unlikely to call up players he didn't get the chance to work with and see up-close in the upcoming break.
