I Used to be Famous Trailer Shows Ed Skrein as a Former Boy Band Member

Netflix has dropped the official trailer for I Used to be Famous, its upcoming music drama starring Deadpool actor Ed Skrein and newcomer Leo Long. The film is scheduled to make its debut on September 16.

The video, which you can check out below, features disgraced former boy band member Vince as he struggles to get back in the music industry. His life changes with the arrival of Stevie, a musically gifted teenager with autism who forms a bond with Vince through their shared love for music.

I Used to be Famous is written and directed by Eddie Sternberg and based on his 2015 short film of the same name. It stars Ed Skrein, Leo Long, Eleanor Matsuura, Eoin Macken, Lorraine Ashbourne, Stanley Morgan, Neil Stuke, Kurt Egyiawan, and more.

“In the film, Vince used to be in the hottest boy band around,” reads the synopsis. “Now he’s alone and desperate. An impromptu jam with Stevie, an autistic drummer with an incredible gift for rhythm, sparks an unexpected friendship. Together they form a unique bond through the power of music.”

I Used to be Famous is executive produced by Damian Jones and Paul Grindey, with Collie McCarthy producing. The film is also co-written by Zak Klein. Before its streaming debut, it will first have a limited theatrical release in U.K. theaters on September 9.
