Why You Must Put PIN/PUK On Your SIM Card “My Experience Today”
Good morning all,
I decided to share this based on a friend’s experience .
Her phone got stolen, and she hasn’t activated USSD Banking on her phone. Since the phone number is tired to her account , the criminal activated USSD mobile banking, created a new pin on the USSD banking and moved closed to N90,000 from her account.
Worst part was she wasn’t getting alerts since her phone was with the guy. All these took place between three hours, less than enough time for her to do a SIM Swap.
So we all should be careful, put a PIN on your SIM Card so whenever it is put in a new phone, or your phone is restarted, the user must login to the SIM with a pin.
With your SIM, the criminal can easily change your USSD banking, and withdraw your money.
Be careful all,
Be ware.
