90min revealed earlier this week that the Bianconeri had beaten Serie A rivals Inter to the Torino star. Inter had been strong favourites to land the Brazilian, but their inability to offload Milan Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain played a role in stalling talks.

Matthijs de Ligt recently left Italy to move to Bayern Munich and Juve have now signed his replacement for an initial €41m with a further €8m in potential add-ons.

Juve's statement reads: "The Bianconeri defence has been strengthened by the arrival of Gleison Bremer, who today signed a contract that ties him to Juventus on a permanent deal until 2027."

Bremer was named Serie A's best defender last season for his performances for Torino, who have wished him well for the future.

Their statement adds: "The company would like to thank Gleison, a respectable young man and exemplary professional, for the enthusiasm, dedication and commitment that have always distinguished him over the years. The whole Torino Football Club greets Gleison with affection and with a big good luck for the continuation of his career."

Juventus are looking to improve on their fourth place finish last season, maintaining their Champions League status following the return of Massimiliano Allegri.
