In this interview granted in Hausa Language, Dr Baba Ahmed, the Northern Elders Forum Spokesman, queried what the North has gained from voting fellow northerners. He used Buhari government as an example of how insisting on a northerner might not be beneficial to the north after all.

He therefore stated that Arewa will vote competence and credibility - someone not corrupt and has ability to fix Nigeria, whether he’s Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba.
