A female student of the Government Secondary School, Kachai, Kaduna State, has lost her right eye after a teacher allegedly hit her with his cane.

According to DailyTrust, the incident happened on 23rd February, 2017.

The victim identified as Raliaya Suleiman, was flogged by a teacher, one Moses Aura for coming late to school.

The medium reported that the cane hit her right eye just as the teacher was flogging her, resulting to a permanent damage.

Confirming the incident, Raliya’s uncle, Sani Abubakar, said, “Raliya was late for school that faithful day, 23rd February, 2017 and the teacher, Moses Aura asked her and many others to kneel down and wait for him.

“When he came back, he started beating her and the cane hit her right eye.

“She was rushed to the National Eye Center, Kaduna, unfortunately, they said the water in the eye had drained out and there was nothing they could do to salvage the eye.”

Meanwhile, the Kaduna Area Unit of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has taken up Raliya’s case to seek for justice.
