So Sad!! 19 Slaughtered, 45 Injured As Knife-Wielding Man Goes On Rampage In Japan

A knife-wielding man was arrested after he slaughtered at least 19 people with 45 others injured at a facility for the disabled in Japan on Tuesday morning, NHK reports, citing police.

The 26-year-old man – name withheld – was arrested after killing 19 people and injuring 45 others in a stabbing rampage at Tsukui Yamayuri-en facility in Midori Ward for the disabled in Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture near Tokyo, local media reported, citing authorities.

It was learnt that 30 minutes after the incident, a former employee turned himself over to officers at the Sagamihara Police Station. He was subsequently arrested for murder.

“I did it,” the man was quoted in admitting to the charges.

Twenty of the injured are in critical condition, the national fire department, which also performs emergency medical care, has said.

Police are currently looking into the motive behind the attack, which happened in the city of Sagamihara, just west of Tokyo.
