Spurs identify three midfield transfer targets for Conte
Tottenham are casting a wide net for a new midfield signing.
Tottenham hold an interest in Aston Villa's John McGin this summer, and the latest reports claim the Londoners' manager, Antonio Conte, has 'lined up' a move for the midfielder.
Spurs are set to back their manager in the market after successful qualifying for Champions League football. The Telegraph says Conte wants to sign a new centre-back, right wing-back, two midfielders, a forward and a back-up goalkeeper this summer.
Midfield targets include Villa's McGinn, Southampton's James Ward-Prowse and former Spurs man Christian Eriksen.
All three midfielders particularly appeal to Spurs because of their experience in the Premier League, which is a key attribute Conte is searching for as the club conducts their transfer business in the coming weeks. Villa are not expected to entertain bids for their current vice captain this summer, however.
