See why this Doughnut is being Sold for N26,500

New York foodies who find themselves with spare spending cash are being offered a particularly pricey pastry: a $100 doughnut covered in 24-karat gold flakes.

The Manila Social Club, a Brooklyn eatery owned by Filipino brothers Bjorn De La Cruz and Samuel Ware, unveiled The Golden Cristal Ube Donut in an Instagram post that gave the public a first look at the confection, as well as revealing its $100 price tag.

The doughnut contains ube, a purple yam found in several of The Manila Social Club’s dishes, as well as vintage Cristal, 24-karat edible gold flakes and gold dust.

“The honey notes from the Cristal pair well with the ube mousse,” one of the brothers said. They also disclosed they have sold more than five dozen of the doughnuts after it was unveiled. Lol, if I buy one, I might probably not finish it in a day. May be the next day sha and after that, no more. Except someone deems it fit to buy for me.
