Arsenal remain in fourth place ahead of Spurs.

But Poyet argues: "If you want to show any player how to play the game you can show the first half from Tottenham. The way they played, the anticipation, the way they played forward - they were all over Arsenal.

"The second half was a little bit different, especially after the third goal, but the game should be played the way Tottenham played and Arsenal were in a position where they couldn't handle it.

"After yesterday's performance I think Tottenham will get fourth place. They've got a slightly easier last two games and that helps but when you have games so close at the end of the season, when you are in this kind of momentum, and after the game yesterday, it can give you an extra bit of motivation to win the two games.

"Arsenal need to prove themselves so we'll see. It's nice, we're not only looking at the top of the table but also the fourth position, which is great for football fans."
