It has been revealed that Mercelo was sacked by Lyon after he farted in the locker room and joked about it.

Lyon is a football team playing in the French Ligue 1.

Mercelo was first expelled from the first team, before leaving the club under a cloud just a few months later.

Last August, the Ligue 1 club confirmed that the defender had been relegated to the reserves for “inappropriate behavior.”

Marcelo started the team’s first two games of the season before being benched. On matchday two, Marcelo scored an own goal in a 3-0 loss against Angers, which was his final game for Lyon.

According to GFFN, the 34-year-old passed gas loudly in the dressing room following their disastrous match, and to add salt to their wounds, he made a joke about it.

That was what ended his stay at the club.
