Chelsea boss Tuchel admits Hudson-Odoi's injury big blow
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has lamented Callum Hudson-Odoi's injury setback.
Tuchel says Hudson-Odoi's absence is a huge blow.
Ahead of tomorrow's trip to Southampton, Tuchel said: "Callum Hudson-Odoi is still out and we are in a bit of doubt over Romelu [Lukaku] and Hakim Ziyech.
"They did not train on Thursday due to little problems but we need a test and confirmation at training to see if they are available for tomorrow."
On Hudson-Odoi's situation, he added: "It doesn't look so good at the moment. It is not a matter of days but weeks. He started in the World Club final and had an assist in the that final.
"He was crucial on the left side, sometimes as a wing-back, but most of the time as a winger. He was growing into the season but suddenly it stopped. It is not his fault but it is an upset."
Chelsea have conceded seven goals in their last two games and Tuchel says his side have to "stop this direction".
"We are aware of it and we don't like it," said Tuchel. "I wouldn't say we are concerned but it's not typical of us. We are trying to figure out how we can improve and we have to stop this directions as soon as possible.
"The best option is tomorrow. It's not like us to defend like this and concede so many goals. We didn't see it coming because it was not the case before the international break, which is why it is not as easy to deal with because there is no pattern."
