Newcastle planning bid for Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez
Newcastle are planning a bid for Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
The Sun says Eddie Howe's scouts are tracking the extrovert keeper and Toon are lining up a £20million offer in the summer.
Sanchez, 24, has emerged as one of the best young keepers in the Premier League and also has a strong personality for the demanding job.
Howe is looking for a new keeper and has checked out other targets but insiders reveal that Sanchez is the Newcastle boss' favoured choice.
Brighton will want big money for their discovery, who came through youth ranks at the Amex but the two clubs have already done business for Dan Burn during January's transfer window.
Dan Ashworth is due to be appointed Toon's director of football after stepping down as Brighton technical director in February.
