Aston Villa striker Watkins in line for England call

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins is set to be added to the England squad for the friendlies with Switzerland and Ivory Coast.

He already has five caps and one goal for the Three Lions.

Now he could have the chance to add to that tally over the next eight days, says The Athletic.

Watkins was not named as part of Gareth Southgate's original 25-man group last week.

The 26-year-old started in his club's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

But his disappointment at that result was short lived after he was reportedly told of his inclusion in Southgate's party.
