Barcelona reviving Pogba plans after sponsorship cash bonanza

Barcelona are reviving their interest in Manchester United's Bosman prospect Paul Pogba.

The Daily Star says Pogba, 29, will become a free transfer this summer after he runs down the final months of his £250,000-a- week contract at United. Barcelona's original interest had cooled because they thought they would be unable to meet the personal demands of the former Juventus man.

However, last week's mega sponsorship deal with Spotify, worth an estimated £235million over four years, has altered the financial picture at Camp Nou dramatically. And it now means they can enter the race - and come up with a package to tempt Pogba to join the on-going Xavi revolution.

Through to the Europa League last eight, Barcelona's LaLiga form has improved significantly following some major January signings, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal. As long as that upturn in fortunes continues, it seems certain Pogba would be interested in finishing his rollercoaster career in Spain.

His real dream move was to join Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid, but with him long gone from the Bernebau that is now a non-starter.
