Arsenal seek to host Community Shield this year
Arsenal are willing to host the Community Shield this year.
The London Evening Standard says Arsenal and the London Stadium both want to host next season's Community Shield, with Wembley unavailable as it is being used for the Women's European Championship Final.
The Football Association (FA) are currently looking at alternative venues and talks are ongoing about who could stage the 2022/23 season curtain-raiser.
The Premier League is due to start on August 6 next season, with the Community Shield pencilled in to take place the weekend before.
That date, however, clashes with the final of this summer's Women's Euros, which England are hosting.
It is understood Arsenal and the London Stadium are open to hosting the Community Shield, while other grounds are thought to be in the running too. Villa Park hosted the game back in 2012 when Wembley was being used for the London Olympics.
