A 20-year-old man has been arrested after he gruesomely murdered his own mother in Nzaui sub-county, Makueni County, Kenya.

According to News24, the man identified as Mutuku Musa was arrested at Kabati trading centre in Nguu where he went hiding after allegedly committing the heinous act.

The man is said to have gone to his home at Wolwa village and started shouting that he will kill somebody after which he hit his mother severally with a blunt object on the head.

He also injured his sister and uncle who responded to the alarm raised by his mother.

“The man was has been arrested with the help of the members of the public who tipped the police about his hiding place,” said Nzaui sub-county OCPD Alex Ndung’u. The man is being held at Emali Police Station, the OCPD said that Musa will be arraigned in court.

According to Ndung’u the man allegedly killed his mother after he suspected that she was the one bewitching him although it is believed that family issues contributed to the act.
