Real Madrid convinced Man City (not Barcelona) closest Haaland rival

Real Madrid chiefs are convinced Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland wants to join them as a priority.

The Norway international is expected to leave Dortmund this summer, with his deal to see a €75m buyout clause introduced this summer.

Barcelona coach Xavi reportedly met with Haaland this week in Munich.

However, El Chiringuito host Josep Pedrerol, who is close to Real president Florentino Perez, is insisting they believe Haaland wants to join Madrid as a priority.

He said: "Real Madrid know that Haaland wants to play at the Bernabéu and believes that his only rival in this fight is Manchester City, not Barcelona."
