Deon Lotz was born in Cape Town, South Africa on the 20th day of July 1964.

He is the third child in a family of four children. He has an elder brother and sister and a younger brother.

Prior to acting, Lotz worked as a hotelier and also acted in commercials during the early days of his career.

While living in Cape Town, he began to work as a full time actor and also travelling to Johanesburg for work.
