EFCC arraigns man for fraud and criminal conspiracy

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, February16, arraigned one Daniel Onyebuchi Anyikai before Justice C.S Oriji of the FCT High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja on a six-count charge of obtaining by false pretence, criminal conspiracy and forgery.

Anyika, sometime in August, 2008 allegedly conspired with one Mohammed Lawal to steal a title document of a parcel of land situated atPlot No.921, Katampe B07, Abuja belonging to one Alhaji Lawal Umar Aminu. The alleged offence is contrary to Section 317 of the Penal Code. Particulars of one of the counts read:"ANYIKA ONYEBUCHI, sometime in August, 2008 at Abuja within the juridsdiction of this Honourable Court dishonestly recieved stolen property to wit : Certificate of Occupancy over Plot No.921, Katampe B07, File No. 10304 the property of one Alhaji Lawal Umar Aminu, having reason to believe same tobe stolen property."
