Patrick Mahomes is an American football quarterback who plays for Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He was into college football and college baseball at Texas Tech University. He later left baseball football.

He became one of the four African- American quarterbacks to win the AP MVP Award. He also won the NFL offensive player of the year and NFL Most Valuable Player awards.

Early Life

Patrick Mahomes waa born in Texas, United States on the 17th day of September, 1995. He was raised in a christian home by his parents, Pat Mahomes and Randi Mahomes. His father, Pat Mahomes is a former Major League baseball pitcher.

He has a younger brother named Jackson Mahomes, who is an internet celebrity.

He went to Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas. He played sports like baseball, basketball and football. He also attended Texas Twch University.

Career

Mahomes began his career in the collwge football with his first opponent as the “Oklahoma State Cowboys” of the Oklahoma State University. He became a subsitute for the injured quarterback Davis Matthew Webb.

He had his first appearance as a starter with the opponent “Texas Longhorns” of the University of Texas at Austin. Mahomes later became a regular starter for the final three games of the season after an amazing performance in his first game with completion of 13 out of 21 passes in the game.

He also played baseball as a relief pitcher for his college baseball team, The Texas Tech Red Raiders.

He began as a starter in the season where he was deployed as a quarterback and helped his team to win the first game of the 2015 season. He had an impressive showdown in the 2015 season with a record of 36 passing touchdowns, 15 interceptions, and 4,653 passing yards.

Mahomes made the decision to leave baseball to put his mind on his football career. He also announced that he would enter the NFL draft in 2017. Prior to the draft, he was named as rhe second best quarterback by Sports Illustrated, third best by ESPN and fourth best by NFL Draft Scout.

Mahomes had 18 private workouts and visits with teams such as; Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers and so on.

He led the Chiefs to Super Bowl LIV, the first superbowl appearance in 50 years, at the 2019-20 playoffs.

He became a minority stakeholder with the Kansas City Royals ownership in 2020 and also joined the Spoeting Club, the ownership group of the Major League Soccer franchise Kansas City, in 2021.

He became an investor in a group to expand the Whataburger fast food restaurant franchise to Missouri and Kansas in 2021.

Personal Life

Mahomes proposed to his high school sweetheart, Brittany Matthews on September 1, 2020, in a suite in Arrowhead stadium.

The couple who lives in Kansas City, Missouri, welcomed their first child, a daughter, on February 20, 2021.

Brittany Matthews is the co-owner of the Kansas City Current, a women’s professional soccer team. She also had a brief professional soccer career with UMF Afturelding and also became a certified personal trainer.

As a philanthropist, he established a nonprofit organization called the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, which was meant to improve the lives of children.

He also signed a contract with Herzberg Diamonds and also announced his own signature shoe as paet of his endorsement deal with Adidas.
