The former Tottenham and Inter Milan star signed for the Bees last week to the end of the season.

Asked about the option of extending the deal, Frank told Bold: "It's very simple. There's an appointment for summer. What happens from there, what has been talked about and what has not been talked about, I think is irrelevant.

"The most important thing for me and Christian is that he has found a place where he can play some football and enjoys going to work every day.

"We hope he hits the top level that we all know he has. And then we have to take it from there. There are, of course, some natural question marks that we all have."
