Newcastle make new move for Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata
Newcastle have made a new move for Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata.
The Daily Express says Newcastle have made a new bid for Zapata ahead of the transfer window closing on Monday night according to reports. The Atalanta star was targeted earlier in January but a deal could not be agreed.
Newcastle are ready to go back in for the signing of Zapata this month with time ticking on the transfer window.
Eddie Howe has been desperate to tap into the grand funds at his disposal with the power of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund behind him.
But in reality, it has been tough prising players away from their teams this January after prices became inflated due to Newcastle's status as the richest club in the world.
The Magpies have landed two players in the form of Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood but more had been expected by this stage.
