FUTA Student Protest Over Extortion By Notorious Bad Boys

It was earlier reported by fellow students of federal university of akure of the incessant extortion, harassment of student at the university south gate which is the biggest gate of the university were bad boys snatch their belongings such as phones, bags ,money and other valauble materials of theirs.

yesterday been sunday protest was made in the regards of it and the student were address by the SUG president.

Below is the press statement:

The Students Union, the student apex policy making body, a consortium of vibrant lucid students dedicated to the welfare, protection and advocacy of the interest of students of the Federal University of Technology.

Lieu to the incessant extortion and harassment by the notorious group of people tagged The South Gate Boys, the student union staged a protest to stop the harassment and extortion of students. The student populace came out in their numbers to join the protest to stop the notorious act of the southgate boys. The protested which had its starting point from Southgate to Futa Junction lasted for hours which along the line triggered the Vice Chancellor and The Dean of Students to show up at the protest.

Due to this, the Student Union ordered that all schooling activities should be on hold throughout the week and till further notice.

Furthermore, All students are enjoined to join the protest tomorrow by 6:30am at South gate
