PDP reschedules governorship primaries to January 26

Ahead of the 2022 governorship elections in Ekiti State, the National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party has rescheduled the state congress for candidate nomination earlier slated to Friday, January 28, 2022, to Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

This is part of the approved adjustments to the timetable and activities for the party’s primaries ahead of the June 18, 2022, Ekiti governorship election.

The Party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement titled ‘Ekiti: PDP adjusts timetable, fixes governorship primary for January 26.’

Under the adjusted schedule, the ward congress to elect a three-person ad hoc ward delegates earlier slated for Friday, January 7 to Saturday, January 8, 2022, has been rescheduled to Saturday, January 15, 2022,

Consequently, the local government congress to elect one national delegate per local government and persons living with disability, earlier scheduled for January 15, 2022, has been shifted to Saturday, January 22, 2022.

Bature urged all governorship aspirants, critical stakeholders, leaders, and members of the Party in Ekiti state to be guided accordingly.
