Gombe Gov tasks new aides on transparency, accountability

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Sunday swore in four new Special Advisers.

The newly appointed Gombe officials include; Shehu Adamu Sokoto, (Special Services), Barr. Sani Ahmed Haruna (Human Capital Development), Prof. Namala Amuga Keftin (Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation), and Ibrahim Musa Bakas (Special Duties).

The appointees were encouraged to bring in their wealth of experience in the public and private sectors for the benefits and development of Gombe State.

While congratulating the new appointees, Governor Yahaya charged them to work assiduously and harmoniously with other public officers, civil servants and all other stakeholders in ensuring diligent implementation of all government policies and programmes to bring dividend of democracy to the people, especially at the grassroots level.

He said, “Your appointments are a manifestation of our commitment to offering the good people of Gombe State the best and ensuring good governance by making sure that suitably-qualified persons, who will remain accountable, transparent and responsible to the yearnings and aspirations of the electorate, are appointed into public office.”

Yahaya urged the new appointees, and indeed all public office holders and Civil Servants to ensure prudent management of resources entrusted to them by adhering strictly to all relevant financial regulations in the state.

“This government is committed to fiscal discipline, transparency and accountability as a necessary tonic to enable us to execute the developmental projects that our people need in order to uplift their living standards,” he added.
