OPINION: Does Age Really Matters In A Relationship?

Is Age Just A Number in a relationship? To me i don’t thick age as anything to do with relationship as far as any of the is above 18.

Most people that its maturity that really matters in relationships, saying “the heart wants what the heart wants” is a cliché that could not be more accurate as one can’t truly help with whom one fall in love and love does not care if someone is older or younger.

“Society holds a negative stigma regarding age differences, which causes people to obsess over it and, that is why when we start developing feelings for people outside of our age brackets, we think our feelings are wrong and we often put up walls and flee for the mountains, but before shutting the door on the chance at love, think about your potential lover’s maturity level, if you both are on the same level of maturity, don’t let the attached age number cloud your decision”.

Based on this we spoke to some people if Age really matters in a relationship and here is what they have to say.

“When you fall, you’re not falling about age, when you are building a relationship, you’re not building an age because a relationship is a matter of compatibility and not of numbers, there are younger people with matured thinking and there are older people with childish thinking”. “It’s not about age, it’s about maturity and compatibility, as long as you are both happy then age is not a hindrance”.

“The general gap in a relationship is 3 to 5 years, it is socially accepted when an older man marries a younger woman but when it is the other way round the society becomes less accommodating but couples with age gap have opportunity and challenges like every other relationship”.

“People who say that “age matters” is just a lame excuse to say that they themselves are not confident and does not trust their own feelings, you can’t control who you love or who you will fall in love with because love is not only blind, but love is also unconscious”.

“It’s way too embarrassing, especially in this generation, really matters in order to be usual in society”.

“It’s usually a maturity thing- age gaps often mean one member is at a different stage in life and thus can cause problems. It’s usually better to stay within 3-4 years of your age”.

“Some age gap is reasonable, and often times, too much of an age gap is detrimental to both parties, this reasoning is based on both biological and psychological, emotional, and experiential factors”.

“If you both want the same thing from the relationship, then you have settled half the battle. Just like couples who are the same age, if you aren’t on the same page, things will be just as difficult”.

What do you think, do you agree to all what these people had said? Yes or No. Feel free to drop your comment in the comment box to know your own view.
