Newcastle confident of signing Atletico Madrid fullback Trippier

Newcastle United are confident of signing Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier in January.

The England right back wants to come back home from Spain, and was linked to Manchester United and Arsenal in the summer.

However, Football Insider claims that Newcastle are now heading the queue to secure Trippier, with the club in talks with Atletico Madrid about a transfer.

Trippier has made 15 appearances so far this season, but is presently out with a shoulder problem.

Newcastle are hoping to make a big impact on the market in January, as they seek to back new boss Eddie Howe.
