Arsenal raid Bayern Munich for new scout after Andorra hire
Arsenal have raided Bayern Munich for a new scouting addition.
Football.London says Arsenal have continued a rebuild of their scouting network with the hire of Florian Bluchel, who was previously with Bayern Munich.
The 37-year-old will focus on securing the best young talents in Germany for the Gunners.
Bluchel, 37, spent over a decade at the Bundesliga giants where he worked his way up from youth team video analyst to Head of Technical Scouting, while his most recent position was International Scout, focusing on the Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, North America and German markets.
His role at Emirates Stadium will be as the club's International First Team Scout for Germany, where he will combine traditional scouting methods with video analysis and next-gen player profiling.
It comes as Arsenal have already added to their scouting department and recruited the man who brought the likes of Neymar and Philippe Coutinho to Europe for the first time.
Toni Lima, a former Andorra international who is the most-capped player for his country, has previously worked at the likes of Manchester United, Inter Milan and the Brazil Football Federation
Lima officially started his role in July which will focus on the Spanish market, and will report to Arsenal technical director Edu, whom he knows from his time in Brazil.
