Michael Dapaah (born August 10, 1991) is a multi-talented British rapper, actor and comedian. He came to prominence for portraying the fictional rapper, Big Shaq. He also stands out for his mockumentary SWIL (Somwhere In London). He is known for the music genres of comedy hip hop, comedy music and UK drill.

Early Life

Michael Dapaah was born on August 10, 1991 in Croydon, London, England. He grew up in South Africa. He is a cousin to the popular rapper, Stormzy.

He studied film, acting and theatre at Brunel University.

Career

Dapaah began getting recognition after a brief comedy parts in shows like Meet The Adebanjos which focused on a Nigerian family in London.

He eventually unveiled a mockumentary series on YouTube, SWIL (Somwhere in London), where he created the characters, Big Sjaq and MC Quakez.

He began to make move for a fitness show “Belly Must Go” in 2020.

He became known for his comedic rap “Man’s Not Hot” and released the official studio track version on September 22, 2017. The song was accompanied with a music video with cameo appearances from the likes DJ Khaled and Lil Yachty.
