Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba out for remainder of year

Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba's year is over.

Alba suffered a muscle injury playing at Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

He lasted just half an hour before having to be taken off as Barça lost 3-0 to Bayern and were knocked into the Europa League.

Pending the tests to confirm the severity of the injury, everything already indicates he will not play again now until 2022.

It's a decision that has been taken by Barça's medical department in colloboration with coach Xavi Hernandez with the aim of having Alba fully fit in the New Year.
