Bandit Terorrists Burn Scores Of Passengers Alive In Sokoto

At least seventeen passengers travelling in Sokoto State have been burnt to death by bandits terrorists on Monday.

Naija News reports that the spokesman of the state Police Command, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Tuesday night.

Abubakar said the travellers were set ablaze around 10am in Gidan Bawa village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of the state.

The police spokesman stated that the victims were on their way to Gadan Gayan in Kaduna state when they were ambushed and attacked by the bandits.

Abubakar said an unidentified number of burnt dead bodies have been recovered, adding that seven of the victims have been admitted to an undisclosed hospital.

He said: “The vehicle is carrying 24 passengers out of which 7 victims were admitted and an unidentified number of burnt dead bodies”.

Meanwhile, a commander of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), Abou Sufyan, and other fighters have been killed by troops of the Nigerian Military in Kusuma and Sigir towns in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

It was gathered that the commander and the foot soldiers were killed on Sunday during a series of airstrikes conducted by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) component of Operation Hadin Kai on ISWAP camps in the two towns.

A military source told PRNigeria that the terrorists were killed after Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions showed the ISWAP fighters preparing to attack troops in the area.
