Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic is on the radar of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
La Repubblica says Guardiola is personally driving the deal, with City having now opened talks with Fiorentina about a price for the striker.
The Serbia international has rejected Fiorentina attempts to open new contract talks, with his deal running to 2023.
Guardiola is eager to add a centre-forward to his squad after missing out on Tottenham striker Harry Kane last summer.
Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso has stated Vlahovic is likely to be sold after his contract decision.
